Encouraging Family and Friends to Share Their Memories

Many people have photos and memories they'd like to share but aren't sure how, or whether it's appropriate. A gentle invitation makes a big difference. Here are some ideas:

  • Add the QR code to the order of service or memorial cards, with a line such as "Please share your photos and memories of [name]."
  • Place a sign at the venue, near the entrance or guest book, where people naturally pause.
  • Ask the celebrant or funeral director to mention it during the service, so everyone knows the gallery is there.
  • Send the private link after the service by text or email. Many people prefer to share their photos in their own time.
  • Share it with those who couldn't attend, so family and friends further away can take part too.
  • Encourage people to share old photos. A photo of a printed picture is often the most meaningful contribution.
