Can Photos Be Shared From iCloud, Google Photos or a Shared Album?

Yes. Photos can be shared to the memorial gallery from iCloud, Google Photos or any photo app on your phone.

From iCloud on iPhone

When you tap the upload button, your photo library will open. Photos stored in iCloud need to download to your phone before they can be shared. If you see a small loading symbol on a photo, it's still downloading.

To avoid delays:

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone and go to Photos.
  2. Choose Download and Keep Originals instead of Optimize iPhone Storage.
  3. Wait for your photos to finish downloading, then return to the gallery.

From Google Photos on Android

Select your photos from Google Photos as you normally would. If a photo is only stored in the cloud, it will download to your phone first, which can take a few extra moments.

From a shared album

If the photos are in a shared iCloud or Google Photos album, select them from that album when your photo library opens. It works the same way as sharing from your camera roll.

Tips

  • Use a steady Wi-Fi or mobile data connection.
  • Share large numbers of photos in smaller batches.
  • Use Chrome, Safari or Edge rather than the Facebook or Instagram browser.
